AirAsia Cambodia has announced a new flight route connecting Siem Reap, the nation's historic tourist attraction, with Singapore in response to the strong growth in Cambodia's tourism and aviation sectors, typified by a continuous increase in local and foreign visitors.
 
Many Singaporean investors, in addition to tourists, are actively investing in Cambodia.
 
Beginning on November 9, AirAsia will operate a new route that connects Singapore's Changi Airport (SIN) with Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI).
 
Since May 2024, when AirAsia Cambodia first started operating, we have seen a considerable increase in demand and the possibility of adding more international flight routes. We will soon expand to new locations, and Singapore is the first stop. Direct flights will be offered between Singapore and Phnom Penh, the firm announced. 

Singapore is a major hub for trade and services worldwide, according to Thourn Sinan, president of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Cambodia branch, who made this statement on September 23.
 
He continued by saying that Cambodia will surely gain a great deal from the extra flights operated by AirAsia.
 
Enhancing travel connections between Singapore and Cambodia will benefit Cambodia more, especially in tourism and trade, he said, as Singapore has some of the busiest airports and seaports in the world. 

Sinan stated that Singapore and Cambodia have positive ties and that several Singaporean financiers have already made investments in Cambodia.
 
"I think that AirAsia Cambodia's new Siem Reap-Singapore route is a big step forward for Cambodia." While Singaporean tourists are not among the top 10 visitors to Cambodia, this new flight is likely to inspire more tourists and investors from Singapore to visit and invest in Cambodia,” he said.
 
Increased flights between the nation and other significant locations were supported by Sinan, both domestic and foreign airlines. 

Prak Sophorn, the provincial governor of Siem Reap, told the local media that the AirAsia news is crucial, particularly since the region is making great efforts to boost the number of foreign visitors returning following the pandemic.
 
The country got 3,742,230 foreign visitors in total from January to July 2024, up 23.2% from the 3,037,344 foreign visitors received in the same period in 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism. 24,277 of these were Singaporean visitors, a minor decline of 2.3%.
