The vibrant celebration of Malaysian travel and culture, GO Malaysia Fair, has made a triumphant return to Singapore, in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia – Singapore Office. The fair was officially launched by His Excellency, Dato’ Indera Dr. Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, setting the stage for an exciting three-day showcase at Marina Square, Central Atrium, from 18 to 20 April 2025.
Boasting over 30 engaging booths, the fair offers exclusive travel deals including discounted flights, hotel packages, and curated tours. Visitors are also treated to colourful cultural performances that highlight Malaysia’s diverse heritage, encouraging Singaporean holidaymakers to rediscover the country, especially ahead of the upcoming June school holidays.
Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, emphasized the importance of the Singaporean market, stating, “Singapore remains our top source of tourist arrivals and is critical to our tourism growth. This fair aligns with our goal to transform day-trippers into overnight visitors and increase tourism receipts as we move towards our Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) target of 45 million tourists and RM270 billion in receipts.”
Tourism Malaysia also led a strategic seminar on the eve of the fair, connecting six prominent Malaysian operators with over 50 Singaporean travel agents. Participating brands included Attana Hotels & Resorts, Berjaya Hotel & Resorts, Dusit Princess Melaka, Royale Chulan Hotels & Resorts, The Boathouse Pulau Tioman, and SIREH Park (The Nusajaya Natural Heritage Trust). The networking session set the groundwork for future collaborations and regional partnerships.
Organising Chairman Mr. Foong Cheng Hon described the event as more than just a travel showcase. “The GO Malaysia Fair celebrates Malaysia’s hospitality, adventures, culinary richness, and cultural uniqueness. This fair is a key support initiative for VM2026, helping us move toward the target of 18 million Singaporean visitors annually.”
Launched in 2024, the GO Malaysia Fair uniquely combines digital and on-ground elements, with a special emphasis on medical tourism, arts, and transportation sectors. The fair’s online segment began on 14 April 2025 at www.gomalaysia.sg, offering a hybrid experience for modern travellers.
