INDONESIA:

Bali, Indonesia’s renowned vacation destination, hosted 6.3 million international tourists from January to December last year, marking a 19.5% increase compared to the previous year and exceeding pre-pandemic visitor numbers, according to data from the Bali Provincial Tourism Office.

Tjokorda Bagus Pemayun, the office’s head, highlighted that Australian, Indian, and Chinese travelers were among the leading international arrivals, as reported by The Bali Sun.

Looking ahead to 2025, Bali aims to attract 6.5 million foreign visitors, building on the island’s achievements. Last year, Bali earned widespread recognition, including being voted the most beautiful island in Asia by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the publication’s prestigious Readers’ Choice Awards.

Indonesia has committed to positioning Bali as the centerpiece of its tourism industry, focusing on enhancing visitor experiences and implementing measures to manage tourist numbers effectively, aiming to mitigate overcrowding on the island.

In a bid to preserve Bali’s standing as a premier destination, authorities have launched a specialized task force to enforce regulations. This initiative targets vice-related activities, including monitoring online platforms to prevent foreign nationals from advertising or engaging in illegal services.
