Jatiluwih Tourism Village in Bali, Indonesia, has been honored as one of the Best Tourism Villages in the World for 2024, an award presented by the United Nations Tourism Advisory Board. This prestigious recognition highlights Jatiluwih's dedication to sustainable tourism practices, as well as its efforts to preserve the village’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes.

In response to the award, John Ketut Purna, General Manager of Jatiluwih Tourism Village, shared his gratitude:

"We are deeply honored by this recognition," Purna said. "This award reflects not only the natural and cultural wealth of our village but also our ongoing commitment to sustainability in every aspect of our community—social, environmental, and economic. It is a tribute to our efforts in preserving Jatiluwih for future generations."

Out of over 260 applicants from 60 countries, Jatiluwih stands out as one of the top rural tourism destinations globally. The village’s selection underscores its successful implementation of responsible and regenerative tourism practices, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Purna also acknowledged the vital support of Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, as well as the local governments of Tabanan and Bali. He expressed particular thanks to the Jatiluwih community for their dedication to safeguarding the village's UNESCO World Heritage status and promoting sustainable tourism initiatives.

The award serves as a beacon for the future, as Jatiluwih looks to further strengthen its tourism model. "We invite everyone here at the UN Tourism event in Colombia to visit Jatiluwih," Purna continued. "Come and experience the beauty of Bali, and immerse yourself in the unique cultural spirit of Tri Hita Karana—a philosophy of balance between humanity, nature, and spirituality."
