Philippines opens doors to more Indian visitors with new air links

Philippines:
The Philippines and India are in talks to establish new flight routes, with the possibility of launching initial chartered flights before the year ends.
 
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, speaking at the 2024 post-State of the Nation Address (SONA), said that both the Department of Tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines are actively in discussions with Indian airlines to encourage direct flights to the country.
 
To gauge market interest, the DOT plans to introduce charter flights and collaborate with tour operators to promote Philippine destinations among Indian travelers.
 
The government is also focused on enhancing the country’s tourism infrastructure, particularly by streamlining the e-Visa process for Indian nationals.
 
Last year, India was the large source of tourists for the Philippines with 70,286
