THAILAND:

Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam are planning to establish a maritime route that will link the islands near Trat Province of Thailand with Sihanoukville Province in Cambodia and Kiên Giang Province in Vietnam. The initiative aims to promote trade, investment, tourism, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry.

According to Chamnan Srisawat, President of the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT), the TCT and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) have been advocating for a Cambodia-Vietnam-Thailand Economic Corridor (CVTEC) conference. The goal is to promote the maritime route connecting the three countries, creating a market under the “One Market, Three Destinations” concept.

Both private and public sector representatives from the three countries have recently signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly boost trade, investment, tourism, and the MICE industry along the route.
