The state government is targeting 1.5 million visitors to attend the Grand Cultural Festival Melaka River 2019 which will be held on 22 November 2019 - 01 December at the Melaka River & Spice Garden.
Tourism, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Muhamad Jailani Khamis said, the festival will include more than 30 side events in over 30 venues.
“Various events and activities will be held including the iconic Boat Parade showcasing the cultural uniqueness of 10 countries.
“The countries included are Bulgaria, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Timor Leste and more," he said.
“The inauguration ceremony will be officiated by Yang di-Pertua Negeri , Tun Dr. Mohd Khalil Yaakob on the night of November 23, ”he said.
The Minister of Tourism and tourism ambassadors are expected to attend the festival.
In addition, there will be activities like the River Muay Thai Championship Fun Run & Ride, Trishaw decorating competition, Kayak Sprint and more.
